Over the years, there have been several attempts to spread awareness about the importance of girl child. But spreading this awareness through exhibitions is a trend which is relatively rare in the City.

The Kony
2012 rally was just the chance he needed. “I realised
this rally was the perfect link to highlight the same issues in India, which
nobody has bothered about yet,” says Daniel. The rally, which will be held at
Bangalore International Academy, Jayanagar,
will see 200 students from 30 schools participating. There will be a street
play based on the life of a child soldier in Orissa, songs on freedom, and a
movie on Kony. “Some people from the SCEAD team will also go to Delhi
to protest in front of Parliament and participating students will write a
letter to the President,” he explains

little empathy for their brothers and sisters
As part of the
worldwide campaign against Joseph Kony,
leader of Lord's Resistant Army in Uganda responsible for using children as
soldiers, students of Bangalore International Academy (BIA) in
association with Scead Foundation, on Friday demonstrated their ire against
the war criminal.

The YouTube video, Kony
2012 - Invisible Children, is in the limelight across the globe to bring Kony's
horrors into the spotlight. He has been charged with abduction, enslavement and
murder of children.
‘We
need Granny'
Students from various
institutions such as Delhi Public Schools, Baldwin Boys and Girls High Schools,
Brigade and Bishop Cotton (who have enrolled themselves under Scead
Foundation) gathered and shouted slogans against Kony,
displayed placards that said ‘Say No to Child Soldiers,' ‘Books vs. Guns,' ‘I
am Abducted, Rescue Me,' ‘Solidarity for Child Soldiers' and ‘We need Granny,
not Kony'.
